Gravity Hills Vertigo 2009

Vertigo is exactly what can happen with this surprise gem, well maybe the better term is overindulgence…  An excellent option for those trying to avoid pretention in wine, or just want something easy to drink on an everyday basis, Check out Gravity hills (I’m actually going against my better judgment and will be finding the Zin they make for a future review)
Apparently started as a group of friends from within the wine industry, they make wine, that simple…Understand that not everyone will like it, and encourage those that do to stand up…a very interesting concept in deed.

Aromas of lemon oil, lily, and orange zest it seems nervy for a Chenin blend, crisp and solid throughout the body of wine, there is a subtle sweetness in the front, and then rolls into an elusive fruit middle with hints of Asian pear and nectarine. Acidity balances out the finish nicely while offering some structure and a crisp exit from the rich entry, the finish seems sort of short but that’s most likely because I cant wait long enough between sips…
With this wine my mind went immediately to food, At home some pan fried chicken, with mashed potatoes, and buttery biscuits would be a grand showcase. Otherwise, a nice spinach or argula based salad with citrus vinaigrette, a nice roasted corn salsa, or a gazpacho with a little back heat.
Again the bottom line here is please go buy this wine…
